TO KEEP THE BAY AREA MOVING

YES ON MEASURE RTM

wWomen-59-LR_edited.jpg

Every day, one million people across the Bay Area use public transit to get to work, school and the doctor. But without Measure RTM, BART will close up to 15 stations, including Orinda, North Concord, Pittsburg/Bay Point and Antioch, and end service at 9 p.m. every night.

That’s why, in the State Senate, Tim Grayson helped put Measure RTM on the November ballot.

Measure RTM keeps BART, AC Transit, Muni and Caltrain running and keeps more cars off our already crowded highways. It requires independent financial reviews of transit agencies and citizen oversight of spending, and it expires after 14 years.

We must keep our BART stations open, protect public transit for all, & keep traffic off our highways.

Tim was the first in his family to earn a college degree. His father was a Teamster and his mother was a public transit worker. Tim has been a licensed general building contractor for nearly 30 years and operates his own small business. In 2010, he was elected to the Concord City Council, winning reelection in 2014 and eventually serving as the City’s Mayor. As Mayor, Tim worked to balance the City’s 90 million dollar budget and built up the rainy day fund.

Since being elected to the legislature, Tim has authored and passed historic legislation to build more housing that is affordable for working families, establish statewide rent protections to help more Californians stay in their homes, and increase access to effective mental health services for our California firefighters and first responders. Tim passed legislation to put an end to predatory lending and rein in the payday loan industry. He secured $30 million in statewide funding for Family Justice Centers which help connect victims of domestic abuse and interpersonal violence with support from a wide array of state agencies. Grayson was at the forefront of the effort to create a new budget reserve account to complement the state’s constitutionally capped Rainy Day Fund.

Tim and his wife of more than 30 years, Tammy, have two children and live in Concord.
